Koshi Tappu Wildlife Tour

Program Itinerary:

Day 01. Kathmandu – Biratnagar flight & transfer Koshi Tappu Wild Life
Fly or drive to Biratnagar, situated on the Gangetic floodplains of south-eastern Nepal. Upon arrival at Airport in Biratnagar, our representative will receive you and transfer to the Lodge in Koshi Tappu Wild Life Conservation Area near banks of the Koshi river, which takes 1 and half hour drive. Check in Resort with welcome drinks and check in room for refreshment. The vast expanse of open water created by the barrage and the marshes, lagoons, sandbanks, mudflats and arable land that lie around it offer an outstanding wetland habitat and one of the finest bird watching sites in Asia.
Lunch in the hotel and then we will visit to the information center and elephant stable at the reserve headquarters. Also watch the bird within the wetlands of the camp area.  Short briefing in our following day’s program and dinner.
Overnight at tented camp.

Day 02. Full Day Exploration in Koshi Tappu Wild Life Conserve
Early morning wake up & nature walk around the vicinity areas of the park accompanied with our naturalist.
Breakfast.
Your most regular and rewarding wildlife outings will be on foot, exploring the grasslands, river, lagoons and woodlands close to the camp in the company of one of our resident naturalists.
After breakfast, boating trip onto the wide waters of the Sapta Koshi River (the biggest river of Nepal) with our nature guide to view some of the water birds, water buffaloes, dolphins and various water habitats. End boat trip by the bank of river and have a picnic lunch. Short drive to the Koshi Barrage to view some bird-life and fresh water Dolphins. We can see both Gharial & Marsh Crocodile, Wild Water Buffalo, different species bird includes including 20 duck species, 2 Ibis species, white tailed stonechat, Striated marsh warbler, 30 shore birds, 114 water birds, and the endangered swamp partridge and Bengal florican. Late afternoon return to the camp & dinner. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 03. Bird Watching
Breakfast.
Drive to the Koshi barrage area to see gangetic dolphin, and bird including pied and marsh harrier, lesser adjutant stork, common quail etc. Continue birding in the wetlands, flood plain and cultivation all along the dam of the Koshi River and the area of Pink Tower crossing the Koshi Barrage. Picnic Lunch at the Pink Tower. Late afternoon return to camp looking for some more birds. Dinner & overnight at Hotel.

Day 04. Departure
Further more bird watching near camp site and breakfast. Then after departure to the airport in Biratnagar for flight back to Kathmandu or drive onward destination.
